Akahada Handmade Stoneware Bowl

$ 45.00

Akahada is special type of pottery, made by hand in Nara, Japan by an 8th generation pottery workshop. Known for their milky glazes, this famous workshop also collects clay from the mountain behind their house and each step to make the bowl is done on the property.

We were lucky enough to meet Furuse Gyozo, the 8th generation of this workshop and she showed us all the kilns they'd built, the designs they make and the process involved in each one.
