This special bowl was discovered in Kyoto, Japan at an antique stall. It features a drip glaze and a split bottom, which is traditional in this style. Its intended purpose is to drink tea from such as matcha, however the versatile shape means you can use it for any meal or soup.

 

Our friend Kingy is based in Kyoto with her husband and baby daughter. She trawls through antique markets and hidden vintage stores in the area to find us amazing goodies.

Kingy is a photographer by trade and shoots the pieces she finds in her parent-in-law's old machiya in town.
