On our recent trip through Japan, we came across these beautiful pieces in a small shop. We instantly bought one and contacted Nousaku to bring these beautiful pieces to Provider Store.

Nousaku was founded in 1916, manufacturing objects for Buddhist rituals, Japanese tea ceremony utensils, and flower vases in Takaoka, Japan. In the late 90's, the brand expanded into creating objects for the home and tableware to bring their casting techniques and fine craftsmanship to a broader audience. Each piece is handcrafted with an aim to create the perfect harmony of traditional and modern design.

Takaoka (高岡) is the second largest city in Toyama Prefecture it is located on the coast of Japan's Honshu Island. It is historically known as a centre of metal casting, and this industry still thrives in the city today. Takaoka is also an old castle town that lost its castle during the Edo Period due to a law that limited the number of castles to one per province.
