Story

Elemense aims to create home fragrances that aide in creating a peaceful and tranquil environment. The brand was brought to life in the US by creative director Takuhiro Shinomoto in collaboration with Nippon Kodo.

Nippon Kodo has a long history in perfume and fragrance that dates back almost 450 years. Using the highest quality material from around the world to create incense, perfume and aromatics for the home. The Elemense range builds on this knowledge to create a range of incenses and oils for the modern world using the Chinese philosophy of the 'Five Elements Theory'. Each product focuses on grounding fragrances inspired by the five elements.  Each piece in the range is meticulously blended with a beautiful complexity that transcends from top notes to the last lingering scent.

We first discovered Elemense incense while travelling through Japan, and it instantly became a daily ritual - a soft, grounding fragrance that sets the perfect tone for our mornings. Since we have been working with Nippon Kodo for years, we thought it would be the perfect addition to our collection.
