This vintage drawer was a piece we couldn't resist. It is everything we love about an antique piece; it has history and character and shows signs of its past life. Use this for storing bits and bobs or just as a decorative piece for the home.

Story
Tara decided to kick off this buying trip with a quick stop in Mashiko. We haven’t been back for three years but we have been wanting to return ever since our last visit to hunt for beautiful antiques and ceramics. After one nights sleep in Tokyo, we woke early to collect the hire car and hit the road, after sitting in traffic for what felt like forever, we finally arrived. Mashiko is like a whole different world to the bustling cities of Japan, it is endlessly green, lots of kei trucks buzzing around and more beautiful homewares than we know what to do with.
Because of the Tokyo traffic we ended up with a little less time to source than we’d hoped and a few of our favourite shops were closed for summer holidays, we still managed to find so many treasures in antique shops and small ceramics shops. We’ve discovered beautiful baskets, vases, folk animals, wooden boxes, a very cool lampshade and, of course, lots of ceramics!
