About 2.5 Gauze
Developed by Shinto Towel in Osaka, the unique 2.5-ply gauze construction sits somewhere between a traditional two-layer and three-layer weave. By reducing the weight of the middle layer and weaving the fabric irregularly, Shinto has created a towel that's remarkably soft, highly absorbent and quick to dry, all while remaining beautifully lightweight.
Story
We first discovered Shinto towels while staying in a small hotel in Kyoto. After that first use, we were hooked; they were soft, absorbent, and lightweight. We then hunted down the owner of the brand, Mr. Takashi, and asked to work together; the rest, as they say, is history. We have been bringing these towels to Australia ever since.
A few years back we had the opportunity to collaborate on a custom collaboration towel. We chose a deep moss green in their signature gauze construction.
Years later, they are still the towels we reach for at home, in our studio, and throughout Provider House. Add a little hotel luxury to your bathroom.
