Scroll downCrafted in the Tono region of Gifu Prefecture, this candle cup is made from mineral-rich local clay, each vessel carries subtle variations in texture, glaze and form, celebrating the natural character of the material. We then hand-pour the candle in our Sydney studio using premium soy wax and our signature scents. Each candle is designed to be refilled or washed out and reused as a cup after the candle is finished, giving a life well beyond its burn time.

Story
We were drawn this mino ware vessel because of the way it allows the material to tell its own story. Made in the Tono region of Gifu Prefecture, each piece begins with mineral-rich clay drawn from the surrounding earth, a material that has shaped the region’s ceramic tradition for generations. Rather than seeking perfect uniformity, the makers embrace the subtle variations that come through in the firing, from shifts in glaze and texture to the gentle irregularities of each form. It is this connection between material, maker and place that we love.
Ingredients & Craft
Our studio is located in Surry Hills, Sydney, where we pour each and every one of our candles by hand. We pure soy wax and boutique natural fragrances to craft our candles.
Each one is designed with sustainability in mind, the idea is once you finish burning your candle you can reuse the ceramic vessel. Simply remove the wick, wash with hot soapy water and use it as a tea or coffee cup, or bring it back to the store for a candle refill. We think candles should be burnt and enjoyed every day and not just saved for special occasions, so burn it, refill it or reuse it.
