Story

Made at the foot of Mt. Katsuragi in Nara Prefecture Japan, the master potter uses red clay to create each piece which is then covered with either a white glaze, matte black glaze or an iron glaze. The unique iron glazing involves mixing iron into the glaze to make it appear as though it is metal. We found this maker in a small market on our recent trip to Japan, we loved the glazing and textural unique look for the servingware.
