Izumo is famous for soba noodles, sake, folk art and Taisha, the amazing shrine. We had such an amazing time while there that we had to share our favourite places to encourage you to visit too.
Stay:
Hotel The Cliff
As the name suggests, this hotel is located on a cliff face. With only a handful of rooms, each one has its own private spa and view of the beach. As you enter you see the restaurant and bar with panoramic views of the ocean, you are then lead down a lift to a concrete, dimly lit, bunker where the rooms are. The architecturally designed space is breath taking. Book a spot at the sauna that looks over the beach and treat yourself to a sake in the spa.
Nipponia Izumo Taisha Shrine Town
This hotel is found in an old saké brewery, need we say more.
Hoshino Resorts, Kai Izumo
Charming with a spectacular view.
A beautifully designed space with everything you need.
Coffee:

Drinks
