About:
VDLC "Voler dans le ciel" (I want to fly in the sky) was established in 2009, with a desire to cherish Japanese craftsmanship and craft timeless products.
VDLC canvas is woven in the Okayama Prefecture in partnership with a 3rd generation manufacturer. This prefecture is known for its denim production. Each canvas piece is made on a traditional shuttle machine that has been in use for over 100 years. This style of machine keeps inline with slower production methods and these old shuttle machines are not efficient for mass production.
The fabric is carefully woven by skilled craftsmen for durability, and by deliberately weaving heavy No. 6 thread (plain weave) roughly, it has a lightness and softness that can be uncommon in thicker canvas totes. Each tote has a natural, worn look that is born from a pursuit of creating a piece to use every day.
Origin

Japan
Okayama Prefecture, in the southern part of Japan’s Honshu island, is known for its mostly rural landscapes, feudal castles and several notable art museums. It’s also a gateway to Shikoku Island via Seto Ohashi Bridge.
